CHAPTER HISTORY |

|
In the Spring of 1999, a group of five women felt that the Aggie community needed a cultural based service sorority which had a great emphasis on sisterhood. They found Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Inc. This sorority not only emphasized sisterhood, but also political, educational, cultural, and social awareness.
In February 2000, they were officially recognized as O.W.L.S. in CUS. An informational was held for other women interested in Chi Upsilon Sigma Latin Sorority, Inc. Of the 15 women interested in CUS, 8 proceeded to form Phi Chapter at Texas A&M University.
The Founding Line of Phi Chapter consisted of Jessica Miranda, Cynthia Sanchez, Jennifer Ramirez, Kristyana Delgado, Azucena Ponce, Melissa Dominguez, Natalia Alejandro, and Isabel Bustos. Together these eight women founded the Philynious Phi Chapter of Chi Upsilon Sigma Latin Sorority, Inc. on October 28, 2000. |
