May 18, 2011 | Every year the Hays CISD hosts a Teacher of the Year Luncheon for those teachers who have been honored as the Teacher of The Year for their local campus. In 2011 there were 23 local campuses that participated from the Hays CISD.

AnneMarie "Sentenacious" Garza was selected by her colleagues to represent Camino Real Elementary as the Elementary Teacher of the Year. After being selected she wrote an essay to complete against all the other elementary school teachers in the district. A committee was formed to select the district winners and it was no suprise to us that they selected AnneMarie as the District Secondary Teacher of the Year!

AnneMarie is currently a 3rd Grade Bilingual Teach at Camino Real Elementary School and has been with the district for 6 years. Last summer she began pursuing her Masters of Education degree in Bilingual-Bicultural Education at the Univerity of Texas at Austin.

AnneMarie we are so proud of your accomplishments and your commitment to education. We wish you luck as you advance to compete for Region 13 honors later this year!
