Philantropy/Community ServicePast Phi Chapter Community Service Events

     Our organization was founded on the ideals of educating and assisting women, minorities, as well as our community at large. Each chapter supports our National Philanthropy the “I Have A Dream Foundation” as well create programs, workshops, and community service events to coincide with our year long service project. The following are brief description of our National Projects as well as a list of some of our chapters community service events:

2008 National Service Project

The Grand Chapter Board (GCB) of Chi Upsilon Sigma National Latin Sorority, Incorporated, voted the I Have a Dream Foundation (IHAD) as our national philanthropy.

 

This organization shares in our commitment to education by providing children from low-income areas with mentoring and tutoring, in an effort to assist them in reaching their educational and career goals.

· Toys R’ CUS - Benefiting Milam Elementary

· Aggie Relay for Life - Benefiting The American Cancer Society

· Toy Plush Drive - Benefiting Texas Childrens Hospital

· Food From the Heart Food Drive—Benefiting the Bryan Community

· Thanksgiving Can Drive - Benefiting Local Food Pantries

· “We will kiss you” BeCUS our sister is Irish - Benefiting IHAD

· Book Drive and Crafts - Benefiting St. Jude's Research Hospital

· 9/11 Remembrance Community Service

· Represent (Stroll Competition) - Benefiting wining orgs. Philanthropy

· Keep Brazos Beautiful - Area clean up project

· Texas Aggie Replant

Chi Upsilon Sigma supports a different cause every year by designating it as our National Project. Chi Upsilon Sigma’s National Project for 2008 is the Go Red for Women movement (GRFW). 

 

Go Red For Women is a national movement founded by the American Heart Association to help you to fight back against the No. 1 killer of
American women. It celebrates the energy, passion and power we have as women to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke.
