Her Favorite CUS Memory

There are so many!!! One of the best was attending my first convention held at our Alpha Chapter in New Brunswick, New Jersey. I finally got to meet all of our line sisters from our other chapters and it was wonderful. Alpha Chapter hosted us and gave us the tour of New Jersey. This is something I will never forget!

Why she chose CUS

I met the sisters of CUS at the famous MSC open house. Never did I think of joining a sorority, but there I was talking it up with these 8 women. I figured I would be open minded and attend a meeting. My neighbor AnneMarie, and future line sister, was interested right off the bat. After that first expresso I was hooked. When I saw the bond these women had, I knew that it was something I wanted. I attended a few more events and it solidified my interest in joining CUS that semester. That spring I became a sister  of Chi Upsilon Sigma!

Anne Marie was an interdisciplinary major in school before she became a sister in the Spring of 2001. She currently works in Buda, TX as a 3rd grade bilingual teacher. She is an active leader in her district with positions such as the Campus Leadership team, 3rd grade math teacher, Social Committee and Relay for Life Member.

Her Favorite CUS Memory

My favorite CUS memories go back to the beginning of time. Erica and I were lucky to experience a chapter with 10 sisters there! When Erica and I first crossed Alpha line spoiled us and participated in our every request. That first semester Fall 2001 “the perfect 10” as we used to say participated in the first Latino Step, we dressed up for Halloween as a CUS Sock Hop Theme and best of all we worked together and used our 10 individual strengths to set a foundation for the women to come.

Why she chose CUS

I didn’t choose CUS, it sort of chose me. I was a follower and did what Erica wanted but it ended up being pure fate that I joined CUS.
